Castle Rock

Bowman Financial Strategies proudly serves Castle Rock, Colorado.

Our offices are only a few brief minutes from Castle Rock. Castle Rock is home of the Castle Rock Library where we conduct numerous retirement focused educational events annually to provide objective financial education on topics ranging from Retirement Planning, Social Security and pension planning to understanding the complex landscape of both federal and state tax laws.

Bowman Financial Strategies is happy to serve many fantastic clients who live in Castle Rock.  With so many family-oriented activities and a strong sense of community, it is a great place to call home in retirement.  The historic downtown, frequent events, small businesses, open spaces and safe neighborhoods offer ample opportunity for residents to be active and get to know one another.

Interesting Facts about Castle Rock:

Settlers were drawn to the area by rumors of gold and by land opened through the Homestead Act of 1862. However, it was the discovery of rhyolite stone, not gold, that ultimately led to the settlement of Castle Rock.

In 1936 the town received a donation of land that included its namesake geographical feature. Men employed by the Works Progress Administration constructed a star atop the butte shortly after Castle Rock received that donation. The star was lit every year from 1936 to 1941. After World War II began the star was left unlit as a symbol of sacrifice in support of the war effort. On August 14, 1945, shortly after V-J Day, the star was modified into a V-for-victory. On December 7, 1945, the star was lit for the holiday season. It has been lit every year since for the holidays.

Community Partnership

Castle Rock residents have a local partner to help navigate the changing financial and lifestyle landscape that is retirement.  What we can always count on is change. 2020 has brought numerous changes to the tax code such as a temporary suspension of RMDs and the elimination of the “Stretch IRA” just to name a few.  You can listen to our podcast on the changes the SECURE Act brought here. There will always be changes to taxes and laws that will dictate what tactics you can employ to best meet your goals, minimize taxes, and achieve the retirement you envision.

Our mission is to serve the community through providing ongoing practical, understandable, and actionable financial education so that you have the tools and knowledge to work toward your financial goals. Owner, Erik Bowman, RICP® , NSSA®   and his team have created a multitude of educational resources to help guide you along your retirement journey.

RICP Designation: This designation focuses in all areas of retirement specific planning.  The goals, income streams, and risks to retirees are unique and require specialized expertise.

NSSA Designation: This designation is designed specifically to understand the complexities of Social Security planning and calculations.

Social Security Resources:

Those approaching retirement face big decisions regarding Social Security beginning to manage a parent’s assets, planning distributions throughout retirement.  The web of complexity surrounding taxability of account types, social security filing choices, investment types, types of gains, etc are ripe for error if you are unaware of a rule or provision, potentially leaving tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars on the table.  However, while this complexity may seem overwhelming and unduly complicated, it is full of opportunity for those who forecast ahead. While the Social Security Administration does not, and legally cannot, provide you analysis and filing strategy advice, we have created several Social Security Webinars to help you understand some of your options and strategies.  We are also willing to provide you a complimentary social security analysis tailored to your unique situation and goals.
